A fix to this problem would be great. Regards, George. This launches the sound control panel open to the playback devices tab. You can put the batchfile in Quick Launch or pin it to the Start Menu to get to it quickly.

If you want to open the recording tab quickly, change the 0 to a 1. The Sounds tab can be set to open automatically by changing the 0 to a 2.
